REQUEST: <br /> The Department of Public Works Highways Division is requesting a resolution authorizing the payment of <br /> funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a multi-year lease of one (1) asphalt paver for <br /> all Highways districts. The lease to purchase would be for a period of no more than five (5) years. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The asphalt paver will be used islandwide to assist DPW Highways personnel with construction, resurfacing, <br /> and maintenance projects. Currently, DPW Highways has two (2) asphalt pavers that are shared with all <br /> districts. These asphalt pavers are over twenty years old and with the many projects islandwide an <br /> additional asphalt paver will increase productivity and operations throughout the island especially with <br /> equipment breaks down. <br /> This lease is for a period of no more than five (5) years. The purchase price is $562,441.86. The estimated <br /> lease cost is approximately$9,374.03 per month or$112,488.36 annually.
