COUNTY OF HAWAPI <br />STATE OF HAWAIII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 343 25 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF LATER FISCAL <br />YEARS TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR ONE MULTIFUNCTION <br />COPY MACHINE TO BE USED BY THE CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the <br />Charter") provides, in part, that "any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment of <br />funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made <br />or approved by resolution"; and <br />WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency (hereinafter "Civil Defense") wishes to enter into <br />a five-year lease agreement for one multifunction copy machine; and <br />WHEREAS, Civil Defense estimates the annual cost of this lease agreement to be <br />approximately $3,000, for a total of $15,000 across the five-year term of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, maintenance services for the older copy machine currently utilized by Civil <br />Defense staff have ended, highlighting the need for an additional machine; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that the <br />Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for the purposes <br />hereinabove described; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Section 10-11 of the Charter, <br />sufficient funds be budgeted in later fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the <br />County under the terms of the lease agreement; and <br />
