OMSY OF h� <br />COUNTY OF HAWAF1 STATE OF HAWAM <br />Tp OF�MF'� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 344 25 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS FROM LATER <br />FISCAL YEARS TO ENTER INTO A LICENSING AGREEMENT FOR <br />PROPRIETARY COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND RELATED SERVICES TO BE USED <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii (hereinafter "the <br />Charter") provides, in part, that "any contract, lease or other obligation requiring the payment of <br />funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made <br />or approved by resolution' ; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Information Technology (hereinafter "the Department") <br />wishes to enter into a licensing agreement, with a term of three years, for proprietary software <br />and other services from Microsoft Corporation, Inc., under the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement <br />("EA") program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Microsoft EA program provides cost-effective volume licensing options <br />and flexibility for multiple Microsoft products as well as centralized management of software <br />assets and technical support; and <br />WHEREAS, continued use of the Microsoft EA program is necessary for numerous <br />County functions and operations that rely on existing software; and <br />WHEREAS, since 2017, the Department has utilized the Microsoft EA program for <br />many of the County's computer software needs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department estimates the annual cost of this agreement to be <br />approximately $934,000; now, therefore, <br />
