Page 2 <br />I experience and ensure accountability for professional practice; <br />2 and <br />3 Whereas, this Compact is intended to regulate the day to <br />4 day practice of telepsychology (i.e., the provision of <br />5 psychological services using telecommunication technologies) by <br />6 psychologists across state boundaries in the performance of <br />7 their psychological practice as assigned by an appropriate <br />8 authority; and <br />9 Whereas, this Compact is intended to regulate the temporary <br />10 in -person, face-to-face practice of psychology by psychologists <br />It across state boundaries for 30 days within a calendar year in <br />12 the performance of their psychological practice as assigned by <br />13 an appropriate authority; and <br />14 Whereas, this Compact is intended to authorize State <br />15 Psychology Regulatory Authorities to afford legal recognition, <br />16 in a manner consistent with the terms of the Compact, to <br />17 psychologists licensed in another state; and <br />18 Whereas, this Compact recognizes that states have a vested <br />19 interest in protecting the public's health and safety through <br />20 their licensing and regulation of psychologists and that such <br />21 state regulation will best protect public health and safety; and <br />0q, P�,:� <br />
