In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />On December 23-24, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens will host the 9th annual <br />Garden Enchantment, a Christmas in the Park Event, offering a joyful, free, family -friendly holiday experience for <br />residents and visitors of HawaN Island. Attendees will be able to walk or drive through Lilruokalani Gardens and <br />surrounding areas, experiencing illuminated trees, lighted pathways, and seasonal displays that extend throughout the <br />Waiakea peninsula in the spirit of the season. Free photo opportunities with festive characters, live choral <br />performances, interactive installations, and food trucks will enhance the visitor experience. Local organizations and <br />businesses contribute to creating, staffing, and maintaining the displays. Safety and accessibility are priorities, with <br />well -marked pathways, traffic control, and both standard and handicap -accessible restroom facilities provided. The <br />event draws thousands of participants from across the island, fostering community engagement, promoting seasonal <br />celebration, and enhancing the cultural and aesthetic value of the Gardens. Garden Enchantment provides a <br />memorable and inclusive holiday experience that inspires joy, strengthens community connection, and promotes public <br />appreciation for Hawaii Island's cultural and natural landscapes. <br />*46. 5O1(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens is a nonprofit organization that prepares for activities and festive events throughout <br />the year and is dedicated to fostering, improving, and maintaining the 24-acre cultural landscape at Lilruokalani <br />Gardens. <br />*47. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 5O1(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens is directly connected to the Garden Enchantment Christmas in the Park Event because <br />the organization maintains and programs the park as a cultural and community space. Friends support the park <br />through maintenance, fundraising for capital improvements, and sponsoring seasonal events that provide free, <br />inclusive recreational and cultural experiences. Garden Enchantment aligns with the organization's mission by <br />activating the park with safe, engaging activities and lighting displays that foster community enjoyment and cultural <br />enrichment. The organization coordinates volunteers, local businesses, and community partners to create a well - <br />managed event that highlights the park's landscape and promotes public access to HawaPi's cultural and natural <br />heritage. <br />* 48.
