On December 23-24, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens will host the 9th annual Garden Enchantment, a Christmas in the Park Event, offering a joyful, free, family -friendly holiday experience for residents and visitors of HawaN Island. Attendees will be able to walk or drive through Lilruokalani Gardens and surrounding areas, experiencing illuminated trees, lighted pathways, and seasonal displays that extend throughout the Waiakea peninsula in the spirit of the season. Free photo opportunities with festive characters, live choral performances, interactive installations, and food trucks will enhance the visitor experience. Local organizations and businesses contribute to creating, staffing, and maintaining the displays. Safety and accessibility are priorities, with well -marked pathways, traffic control, and both standard and handicap -accessible restroom facilities provided. The event draws thousands of participants from across the island, fostering community engagement, promoting seasonal celebration, and enhancing the cultural and aesthetic value of the Gardens. Garden Enchantment provides a memorable and inclusive holiday experience that inspires joy, strengthens community connection, and promotes public appreciation for Hawaii Island's cultural and natural landscapes. *46. 5O1(c)(3) Mission Statement Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens is a nonprofit organization that prepares for activities and festive events throughout the year and is dedicated to fostering, improving, and maintaining the 24-acre cultural landscape at Lilruokalani Gardens. *47. Friends of Lilruokalani Gardens is directly connected to the Garden Enchantment Christmas in the Park Event because the organization maintains and programs the park as a cultural and community space. Friends support the park through maintenance, fundraising for capital improvements, and sponsoring seasonal events that provide free, inclusive recreational and cultural experiences. Garden Enchantment aligns with the organization's mission by activating the park with safe, engaging activities and lighting displays that foster community enjoyment and cultural enrichment.
