The KaT Coffee Festival is a signature annual event that celebrates the heritage, quality, and resilience of Ka'u's coffee -growing community. Held in Pahala, the festival brings together local farmers, artisans, educators, and cultural practitioners to showcase KaT-grown coffee through tastings, workshops, farm tours, and performances. The 2026 festival will expand its reach with bilingual programming, youth engagement, and international outreach to elevate Ka'u's reputation as a premium origin. Funding from the County's Contingency Relief Fund will support venue costs, cultural performances, educational materials, and logistical coordination. The festival strengthens local pride, promotes economic development, and fosters deeper connections between producers and consumers. It is a grassroots celebration with global resonance anchored in the land, the people, and the legacy of Ka'u. *44. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement To assist the people of the Big Island in achieving sustainable development while caring for and appreciating their natural environment; to ensure broadened economic opportunities, enriched communities, and better lives. *45.
