In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />This project is part of an ongoing effort involving the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District, the Konawaena High <br />School Leo Club, and the Lions Club of Kona. The Konawaena High School Leo Club, established as the youth branch <br />of the Lions Club of Kona, has been partnering with the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District since August 2019 <br />to educate the community about the fragility of Kona's landscape and the steps necessary to protect it for future <br />generations. Over the past eight years, these organizations have engaged in a comprehensive outreach effort <br />addressing environmental concerns related to soil, forests, and water. The project will focus on producing 30-second <br />radio spots to educate the public on actions they can take to protect the environment in Kona while addressing climate <br />change. <br />*44. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />To develop and provide community service projects and activities that meet the needs of the community. <br />*45. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 501(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />The Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., sponsors the Konawaena High School Leo Club. The Leo Club, <br />the Lions Club of Kona, and the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District have partnered to educate the public about <br />resource concerns that threaten long-term environmental sustainability in Kona. <br />*46.
