The project has
included planting at Konawaena Elementary, Middle, and High School. This effort focuses explicitly on planting native
trees at Konawaena Elementary School. The planting area covers over 1 acre and aims to include more than 100
native plant species. Konawaena Elementary School has hired a Hawaiian cultural specialist to integrate the plantings
into educational activities. Currently, 50 different species have been planted, each marked with signage. This site
serves as a community demonstration and a model for learning about Hawaii's native plants.
*44.501(c)(3) Mission Statement
To develop and provide community service projects and activities that meet the needs of the community.
*45.
