This <br />project aims to provide elementary students with awareness of Hawai'i's native plants. The general population's lack of <br />understanding of native species has contributed to widespread deforestation of upland and dryland forests in Kona. By <br />educating students and the community, the project seeks to foster stewardship and encourage planting of native <br />species rather than introduced or invasive ones. <br />
