Guzman to the Veterans Advisory Committee <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />I am honored to submit the nomination of Mr. Edwin B. Guzman to serve as a member of the <br />Veterans Advisory Committee (VAC). <br />His lifelong commitment to service in the United States Army and the U.S. Department of <br />Veterans Affairs demonstrates the dedication and compassion we seek for the VAC. <br />Mr. Guzman, born in New York, moved to Hawaii at seventeen with the U.S. Army and has <br />called these islands home since. He served for over 22 years in the Army Reserve, building <br />discipline, leadership, and resilience. <br />Following his military service, Mr. Guzman dedicated 35 years to the U.S. Department of <br />Veterans Affairs, supporting veterans and their families across the islands. His extensive <br />experience gives him a unique understanding of our local veteran community's needs. <br />If confirmed, Mr. Guzman will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2030.
