Kilauea Recovery Grant Program Year 3 January 2026 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS Organization and Project Project Description Grant Amount Malama O Puna Project will restore approximately six miles $500,000.00 of privately maintained roads in the Vacationland Road Vacationland subdivision destroyed by the Restoration 2018 Kilauea eruption. It will reestablish safe vehicle access to remaining private parcels, enabling landowners' return, compliance with permits, and the long-term rebuilding of a displaced community. Hawai`i's Volcano Circus Project will restore the SPACE Center for $500,000.00 Education, the only K-6 campus serving Post -Kilauea Eruption Lower Puna. The project will repair eruption - Restoration of SPACE damaged roofs, restore teacher facilities, improve drainage, and rebuild playground and outdoor learning spaces, ensuring safe, resilient education for over 300 students and community members. Puna Rising Ohana Project will restore a 3,000-foot section of $500,000.00 Kahukai Boulevard in Leilani Estates, Leilani Road Restoration destroyed by the 2018 lava flow. Rebuilding this road will reestablish vital access for residents, emergency services, schools, and businesses, enhancing community connectivity, infrastructure resilience, and long-term recovery for lower Puna. Ho`oulu Lahui Project will complete subdivision and $475,000.00 acquisition of five acres at Nani Mau Noho Pa`a — Subdivision Gardens for Ho`oulu Lilhui and Kua O Ka La Phase of Campus Site Charter School, relocated after the 2018 Acquisition Kilauea eruption. Funds address utility decoupling, water and electrical upgrades, permits, and title transfer. Arts and Sciences Center Project will include grading, site preparation, $434,000.00 septic installation, roadways, and wildfire ASC Campus Expansion mitigation for future construction. This is part Grading and Site Preparation of the planning to consolidate HAAS Public Charter School elementary campuses and build a new high school on a 24-acre Pahoa site, creating a community learning campus.
