After a major 2024 well outage
and rising demand, the backup well is needed
now to ensure water reliability, resiliency,
and long-term public health for over 1,500
residents.
Pahoa Lava Zone Museum
The project will rebuild 1.25 miles of lava-
$203,887.00
inundated roadway in lower Puna, restoring
Railroad Avenue Restoration
safe, legal access after the 2018 Kilauea
eruption. The project reopens a critical
evacuation and transportation corridor,
improves emergency response, restores
deeded access, and supports community
recovery and long-term regional resilience.
Malama O Puna
Project will replace the Vacationland
$140,940.00
subdivision water system destroyed in the
Kapoho Kai Water System
2018 Kilauea eruption. With ground
Restoration
temperatures now safe, new distribution lines
will extend from the County's restored main
to serve remaining private lots, support
rebuilding and agriculture, and coordinate
closely with the subdivision HOA and
Department of Water Supply.
SHAC Foundation
Project will upgrade greenhouse facilities,
$123,626.00
including water, electricity, workspaces, and
Infrastructure for Floriculture
covers, to expand their floriculture
Workforce Development
workforce -development program.
