Public health and welfare of the people and the environment
Victims of crimes
Victims of health or social crises
50. In 2,000 characters or less, describe the measurable outcomes you aim to achieve with these
funds.
At Honoka'a Western Week events, Hamakua Health Center, Inc., will track the number of community members who
visit its informational table throughout the week. As conversations arise, the health center will take a tally of the types
of resources and services attendees are seeking, including primary care, dental services, behavioral health support,
and community -based wellness resources. The Honoka'a Western Week Festival draws thousands of attendees over
the course of the week, including an estimated 2,000-3,000 participants at the parade and block party alone. By
participating in this free, public event, the health center aims to increase awareness of available health services,
identify community needs, and strengthen connections between residents and local health resources in an accessible,
culturally grounded setting.
