WHEREAS, the Annual Action Plan is a yearly plan that includes the actual projects and <br />activities set forth in the Consolidated Plan to be carried out with the County's CDBG and ESG <br />MMNMF. M14 <br />WHEREAS, the CDBG and ESG projects and activities must meet the priorities and <br />objectives as described in the Consolidated Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, an estimated total of $2,700,000 of CDBG funds will be used for the <br />following projects and activities: <br />I . An estimated $440,000 to acquire a brush truck for the Pdhoa Fire Station; <br />2. An estimated $445,000 to acquire a Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) <br />mobile compressor and tow vehicle for the Pdhala Fire Station; <br />3. An estimated $750,000 to purchase and install modular prefabricated buildings for <br />the YWCA of Hawaii Island Developmental Preschool; <br />4. An estimated $425,000 to renovate Hale Amau at Mental Health K6kua; <br />5. An estimated $100,000 to improve security at the West Hawaii Domestic Violence <br />Shelter; and <br />6. An estimated $540,000, or 20% of the CDBG funding total for administration, <br />planning, and fair housing; and <br />WHEREAS, an estimated total of $270,000 of ESG funds will be used for the following <br />projects and activities: <br />I An estimated $250,000 will be distributed to HOPE Services Hawaii, a nonprofit <br />organization, for rapid rehousing and homelessness prevention services; and <br />2. An estimated $20,000, or 7.5% of the ESG funding total, for administration; and <br />WHEREAS, HUD requires the County to submit certifications assuring conformance to <br />related rules, regulations, and laws of the CDBG and ESG programs; and <br />WHEREAS, a draft copy of the 2026 Annual Action Plan is publicly available on <br />OHCD's website; and <br />WHEREAS, HUD requires the County to submit their Action Plan by May 15, 2026, to <br />receive Its 2026 CDBG and ESG funds; now, therefore, <br />0 <br />
