Please select all areas of Hawai'i Island where the project will be administered, delivered, an(i <br />implemented. <br />Relief Funds. <br />NOMMIRMOM <br />11111q!p�li yip�� <br />World Bee Day HawaVi is a community -based education and outreach initiative that strengthens Hawaii Island's food <br />security� agricultural resilience, and environmental stewardship by supporting pollinators and responsible beekeeping. <br />In 2026, World Bee Day HawaVi will be held on May 16 at Mokup�papa Discovery Center, aligning with the global <br />observance while delivering a locally focused event for the County of Hawai'i. The program provides free, public <br />educational workshops, demonstrations, and community engagement opportunities that highlight the essential role <br />bees and other pollinators play in local food production, Pollinators support many of the fruits, vegetables, and seed <br />crops relied upon by farms and households across the island. By increasing awareness of pollinator health and best - <br />practice hive management, World Bee Day Hawai'i strengthens local food systems and community self-reliance. <br />Activities include introductory beekeeping education, best practices in hive management, pollinator health awareness, <br />honey -harvesting demonstrations, youth -focused science activities, and presentations by experienced local beekeepers <br />and agricultural partners. Information is practical, science -based, and tailored to Hawaii's unique conditions. World <br />continuing education pathways, By convening farmers, educators, students, and families in an accessible, family - <br />friendly setting, the program strengthens community networks and promotes responsible stewardship of agricultural <br />resources. The initiative supports Hawai'i County Contingency Relief Fund priorities by expanding access to agricultural <br />education, promoting local food resilience, and fostering community preparedness through measurable participation <br />and engagement. <br />Bird and Bee Hawaii Animal Sanctuary is committed to the humane protection of animals, including honeybees, <br />through education and community engagement. We provide a safe sanctuary environment and accessible, hands-on <br />learning that promotes animal welfare, pollinator health, and responsible stewardship while fostering compassion and <br />respect for all living beings in Hawai'i. <br />Bird and Bee Hawai'i Animal Sanctuary's mission centers on humane animal protection, education, and responsible <br />-;tewardship, including the care and protection of honeybees.
