Evidence (datalcitations) <br />documenting the need must be provided."" <br />In Hawai'I County, cats at Animal Control (AC) cannot be adopted directly by the public —the only way for them to <br />leave alive is through a rescue partner. When at capacity, cats have nowhere to go:This limits the County's <br />ability to assist, puts strain on County resources, and increases instances of "dumped" animals, negatively <br />impacting the environment. <br />A4A helps fill this critical gap by transferring cats from AC and the community into our care, but limited access to <br />vet treatment and medical resources restricts how many cats we can safely take. Additional funds for medical <br />care will allow cats to recover faster, increasing turnover and expanding our capacity to save lives. <br />By enabling A4A to intake more cats in a responsible way, we reduce overcrowding at AC, lowers public costs, <br />and Improves animal health in the community.
