The North Kohala Tool Library (NKTL) is located in Kapa'au, on the rural northern tip of Hawaii Island, and serves residents of North and South Kohala. NKTL's mission is to build community capacity by providing its members with affordable, convenient access to tools and equipment, as well as opportunities to learn new skills. NKTL envisions a thriving, resilient, and sustainable North Kohala, where residents receive support to make and fix what they need for their homes, cars, gardens, and lives. A thriving tool library will empower individuals, connect community members, help members save money, reduce negative environmental impacts, and serve as an educational hub for residents to teach and learn valuable skills. It is also a mechanism to reduce consumption and waste stream pressure by providing a space for community members to donate quality, underused tools and materials for broader community use and to repair viable, broken, or damaged tools. *45.501(c)(3) Mission Statement To facilitate a vision of lokahi, harmony, and balance among the diverse people of Hawaii, and to encourage each person to contribute their deepest values to create a shared vision and continuously improve our communities. * 46.
