In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />The 2026 Hawari VEX IQ Regional Celebration Tournament is a robotics competition designed to promote Science, <br />Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education through hands-on, project -based learning for <br />elementary- and middle -school students. Participating teams represent a diverse range of public, charter, and private <br />schools and educational programs across the island. The event is part of the VEX IQ Robotics Competition program, an <br />internationally recognized educational robotics initiative that challenges students to design, build, and program robots <br />to complete age -appropriate engineering challenges aligned with real -world problem solving. Students will engage in <br />structured competition matches in which robots are tested against defined objectives, as well as judged interviews in <br />which teams present their engineering design process, teamwork strategies, and coding approaches. The event <br />emphasizes creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and persistence through iterative design. The tournament will be <br />held at the Kenyan K. Beals Community Robotics Center, located on the 2nd floor of the Mokupapa Discovery Center, <br />providing a dedicated STEM -focused venue equipped to support robotics competitions, volunteers, referees, and <br />judging panels. The event will also engage community volunteers, industry mentors, and STEM professionals who will <br />serve as referees, judges, and technical support. <br />* 39. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />Unleash the innovator in every child. <br />*40. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 501(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />Hawari Science and Technology Museum (HSTM) will co -host and support the 2026 Hawari VEX IQ Regional <br />Celebration Tournament as part of its mission to advance STEM education and inspire innovation among Hawari Island <br />youth. The organization directly supports the event by providing venue access, coordinating volunteers and judges, <br />and assisting with event logistics at the Kenyan K. Beals Community Robotics Center. The Kenyan K. Beals Community <br />Robotics Center is a joint project between Hawaii Science and Technology Museum and the Mokupapapa Discovery <br />Center, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding hands-on STEM learning opportunities in East Hawari. <br />*41.
