In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />The Vibrant Hawai'i Resilience Conference is a two-day, in -person training held at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, <br />designed to strengthen local capacity for disaster preparedness, response, and recover. The conference brings <br />together community leaders, volunteers, health professionals, nonprofit staff, faith -based organizations, and business <br />partners to build shared skills, coordination, and readiness before the next emergency. This conference is intentionally <br />practice -focused and grounded in real -world response conditions. Sessions emphasize coordination across roles, clear <br />communication, and locally adaptable approaches that support communities in the critical hours, days, and months <br />following a disaster. Between plenaries and keynotes, participants attend breakout sessions organized by track —six <br />sessions over two days —building skills progressively. <br />* 49. 5O1(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />To convene conversations so that all wa'a (explicit actions) can travel toward a common goal, build community <br />awareness, will, and action from the foundation of our shared values, shift deficit narratives, systems, and policy that <br />perpetuate povery and inequity, and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community and <br />reflect native intelligence. <br />* 50. In 1,000 characters or less, explain how the 5O1(c)(3) is connected to the project. <br />Vibrant Hawai'i is the backbone organization that designs, convenes, and operationalizes the entire effort as part of its <br />broader mission to strengthen community resilience across Hawai'i Island. <br />* 51.
