No. 548-26 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 12:49 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 548-26, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 548-26, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br />No. 860, dated April 2, 2026, awards five stewardship grants from the Public Access, Open Space, <br />and Natural Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund as recommended by the Director of Finance <br />for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. <br />This resolution authorizes the Director of Finance to provide Public Access, Open Space, and <br />F- Natural Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund Stewardship grants totaling $477,266.50 to four <br />nonprofit organizations, pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawaii County Charter. <br />Committee Member Heather Kimball requested that a report be provided at the next hearing <br />_ reflecting all organizations that applied for this stewardship grant but were not awarded for the <br />record.
