Festivities begin with a pa'u workshop on May 9 at Mahealani Ranch. Past pa'u queens and princesses
instruct new participants in the parade, demonstrating riding and protocol, and conclude with an equestrian session.
On June 6, the parade moves along Kuakini Highway toward AM Drive through Historic Kailua Village, showcasing the
Royal Court, traditional regalia, and the Royal Order of Kamehameha, presenting chants and ho'okupu. The Daughters
of Hawai'i and pa'u units represent each island. After the parade, the Hdolaule'a celebration at 11 A.M. on the Hulihe'e
Palace grounds features musicians, hula, and a craft fair.
