We have been told it means
"Searcher of Beauty. " At Council we are increasing a speed limit in the area and I asked
staff to research the background of the naming of the drive. We discovered that the form
of the word changed over time to Ka'iminani. I would like to ask you for clarification in
this instance. Does the meaning of the word change if we use Ka'iminani instead of the
original Ka'imi Mani?

Because this item comes up for review on Wednesday, I would like your clarification of
this matter at your earliest convenience. Word can be left for me at my office in Kona at
326-5684.

Thank you for your help.

Kona Council Office: 77-6399 Nalani Street 0 Swtc 104 0 Kailoa-Kona 0 Hawaii 0 96740-8980
