NISHIMURA, TRAFFIC ~ VVV1
SUBJECT: KALEIOPAPA ROAD PARKING PROHIBITION
The County Council is presently processing a bill to prohibit parking along the end of
Kaleiopapa Road, highlighted in pink on the attached map.
The bill would prohibit parking on the mauka side of the highlighted area at all times, except on
Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. when parking would be allowed on both sides of
the road.
One of the council members asked if a fire truck can pass this area if cars are parked along both
sides of the road. We are also interested in your comments concerning the need for a fire lane to
the pier at the end of Kaleiopapa Road. Is a fire lane needed at all times? Can fire trucks park
near the boat ramp to access locations at the end of Kaleiopapa Road?
Request your comments so that we can answer the council members concerns. This item is
tentatively scheduled for the June 2, 1997 meeting of the County Council.
Mahalo!
