Kong, born right here in Keauhou. Keauhou has been our
have for five generations.
I am a member of Bishop Estate Cultural Advisory Caanittee, and I am happy
to say, that Joe Spencer and his working boys have done a beautiful work. I'm
also happy that Jce Spencer has shown a lot of respect towards our Hawaiian
history and cultural in Keauhou and Kahaluu.
I ask you members, go down and look at the place. this way you could make
a much more precise judgment. It's beautiful.
The cliff of Kaleiopapa, Kamehameha III birth place, Ka'opa Spring, Ahuula
Cave and Kuhalalua Pond. We have 23 historical areas here in Keauhou.
I wish people would appreciate all the beautiful work that have been put
into this cultural park bringing to life our ancestors history.
March 17, 1997, the Daughters of Hawaii held a dedication and blessing of
Kauikeouli Kamehameha III birth place. I was given the honor to do the blessing
and history.
Anyway, when I was told of the closing of the road, I called Joe Spencer to

meet me in Keauhou bay on April 11,1997. Jce Spencer said that he was not
closing the road, but thought of having a no parking on the mauka (mountain
side) of the street (Kaleiopapa).
That road is not Kaleiopapa. It was part of the Ali'i Highway because of
Kamehameha's birth place. Kaleiopapa is the back road (the dirt road).
Gemzr Yo. ~ -stir'
File Ito.
Iaf.
