site in our minds is a carefully planned and policed area, not a park which is open to the public. 3) The area is owned by the HPP Hui Hanalike, and currently the Real Property tax dept is assessing each lot of this 31 acre site at $100 each, due to possibility of cave openings. Opening this unsafe area with burial caves may prove dangerous. Also, the Hawaiian community could easily be offended with the current plan. 4) This is a very special area, with nesting sites of Owls and Hawks and bringing in the public would compromize the quiet and seclusion needed for these endangered species. 5) Obtaining Government Grants for our private subdivision may be turning over control of our assets to agencies that place a burden and unwanted requirements on our subdivision. 6) There are other community areas in the subdivision, which could be utilitized, e.g. two undeveloped county parks, etc. which would benefit far more people in the subdivision than this proposed park. These areas should be developed first, in our minds. THIS IS ONLY A SAl1APLING of our concerns, and we would be happy to discuss this at length with you.... WHAT WE NEED is for you to become involved and come to this meeting which is the 3rd Sunday in December, i.e. 1 2/20/98 at 3pm at the Community Center on Makuu and 17th.. We will be expressing our concerns and hopefully you will agree with us, attend and vote against this project. IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO BE A VOTING MEMBER IN ORDER TO HAVE A SAY. You must pay a $25 fee to be a member. AND altough the bylaws do not address same, we were told that you must be a member 10 days before the meeting to vote.
