P.~RKS & RECAE.~ITIO\ <br /> Cemeteries <br /> Progress in Meeting Program Obiectives <br /> FY 2000-01 <br /> <br /> ALAE CEMETERY <br /> 1 Assign and record all new burials <br /> All new burials are being assigned and recorded, and this is an ongoing <br /> project. <br /> <br /> VETERANS CEMETERIES <br /> 1 Continue to seek community assistance in beautifying the cemeteries. Work with <br /> Sons and Daughters of Veterans for two projects per year. Work with HCCC, Kulani, <br /> or Intake Center for clean-up preparation for special ceremonies and holidays <br /> Minimum of six clean up projects for fiscal year <br /> One project was completed by the Sons and Daughters of Veterans. Another <br /> project Is being planned, and more planning Is ongoing. <br /> <br /> 2 Continue to coordinate development of the West Hawaf i Cemetery with the <br /> Veterans Advisory Committee and the Department of Defense <br /> Meetings are regularly being held with Veterans Advisory Committee. <br /> Coordinating with Department of Defense for new construction phases for <br /> West Hawai'1 Cemetery with advisory committee. <br /> 3 Educate the public on the rules and regulations of the Veterans Cemeteries by <br /> posting the rules at the cemeteries Also, provide informational pamphlets for <br /> distribution through funeral homes <br /> Rules have been posted, and pamphlets w111 be worked on. <br /> RURAL CEMETERIES <br /> 1 Continue maintenance of cemetery grounds <br /> Maintenance is continuing and ongoing. <br /> <br /> 2 Work with Unwersity of Hawaii at Hdo in developing a map of all graves within the <br /> cemeteries Complete by December 31, 2000 <br /> Completed as much as possible with Information gathered by UH student. <br /> Refining and verifying plot map and information. <br /> <br />
