Restrictions on certain vehicles. <br /> We were informed that the weight limit restrictions on Pakalana Street and Waipio Valley Access <br /> Road are too low and should be increased to allow use by a 1-ton capacity truck. <br /> We recommend a gross vehicle weight-rating (GVWR) limit of 10, 000 pounds because it is the <br /> typical weight rating fora 1-ton capacity truck. The GVWR is stamped on a metal plate on the <br /> inside of the driver door and will aid in the enforcement of the weight restriction. <br /> The Hamakua Safety Council and the Hamakua Police concurred with the proposed weight limit. <br /> We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment as described in <br /> the attached draft for an ordinance.
