DUTIES OF THE POSITION <br /> List each duty assigned to 4he position separately. If more space is <br /> needed, use a blank sheet and attach to this form. <br /> Show <br /> The Investigator V assigned to the Community Oriented Prosecution project conducts investigations of the most of time <br /> complex, confidential and diverse cases for the Prosecuting Attorney, the State Attorney General and other <br /> governmental agencies, as assigned. <br /> 1. Investigates complaints of alleged violations of laws and regulations to ascertain extent and nature of violations; <br /> obtains information and evidence; does follow-up on cases; performs research of laws and regulations, precedent 50 <br /> cases in determining action; may be required to investigate other cases concerning felonies and misdemeanors, and <br /> to perform investigative work in connection with grand jury and court proceedings. (1,2,3) <br /> 2. Prepares data, diagrams, photographs, and case materials for presentation to community groups and in court; <br /> prepares background information on prospective jurors/witnesses; checks background of suspects for career criminal 20 <br /> classification, sentence and pardon; assists the Prosecuting Attorney and deputies in preparation of cases; makes <br /> recommendations as to weight of evidence, reliability and credibility of witnesses; testifies in court as a material <br /> witness; secures witnesses and questions witnesses. Maintains files of complaints, reports and case tracking; determines action necessary to alleviate violations and <br /> deter recidivism; assists with deputy's negotiation with offenders and their counsel for settlement of cases. (1,2) 15 <br /> <br /> 4. Assists in development and innovating law enforcement strategies for nuisance abatement actions and drug related <br /> prosecutions. (1,2) <br /> 5.
