~ PLAN TO PROTECT KONA
74-5602-A Alapa Street
Suite 725
;,;w:~~.;:~1: Kailua-Kona, HI 96740
May 19, 1997
James Arakaki,
Chairman
HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL
25 Aupuni Street
Hilo, Hawaii 96720
SUBJECT: RESOLUTION N0. 80-97
Dear Chairman Arakaki:
For the past year I have had the opportunity to work with
our State Trail program, Na Ala Hele, headed on this island by
Mr. Rodney Oshiro. I have been profoundly impressed with the
accomplishments of this under-funded Program thanks to the small
staff's personal commitment to preserving the Ala Kahakai, along
with other trails around the Island.
As President of Plan To Protect, a member of E Mau Na Ala
Hele and a hiker, I wish to thank the Council for standing behind
RESOLUTION N0. 80-97 which supports National Trails Day on June
7th and the preservation of the Ala Kahakai, a very important
Historical, Cultural and Recreational resourse that also serves
to unify us, all around the Island.
Sincerely,
Nancy Pisicchio.
President
808-329-4770
