No activity towards the development of the lodge hotel has occurred to date. <br /> In addition to being an agricultural community, there are those who live in this district and <br /> commute to work at the South Kohala resorts. <br /> There are azeas of historical significance and natural beauty in North Kohala. <br /> <br /> Courses of Action <br /> • Encourage the development of small family and "bed and breakfast" establishments. <br /> • Reevaluate areas at Mahukona currently zoned for resort use. <br /> • Establish a "room-cap" (of 500 visitor units) for resort, retreat resort and bed & breakfast <br /> facilities for the entire North Kohala District <br /> <br />
