Because the Committee was advised that this proposed use would <br /> take place within Kailua Village, Committee members have requested input from the Kailua <br /> Village Design Commission before acting on this application. <br /> Pursuant to section 25-7-1(a), of the Hawaii County Code, we understand that one purpose of the <br /> commission is to advise the planning director concerning private improvements within Kailua <br /> Village. Further, section 25-7-4(c), Hawaii County Code, provides that the commission shall <br /> review all private improvement activities that will alter the physical appearance of Kailua <br /> Village and offer recommendations on these proposals to the planning director. <br /> Consequently, we would respectfully request that this matter be submitted to the Kailua Village <br /> Design Commission for its review and recommendation.
