A speed study consisting of trial runs was conducted <br /> and we conclude a speed of 30 MPH for the first 0.8 mile and 25 MPH for the <br /> remainder of Huina Road to Luhi Road is appropriate. <br /> We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-255, <br /> Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit) and Section 24-256, Schedule 4 (30 mile <br /> per hour limit) under (g) Puna be amended as described in the attached draft <br /> for an ordinance. A location map is attached. <br /> Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public <br /> Works Committee Chair for introduction. <br /> We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject <br /> amendment.
