The arbitration decision covers the period from July 1, 1995 <br /> through June 30, 1997. The cost items aze summarized below: <br /> • 2.00% across-the-boazd increase for all employees on July 1, 1996. <br /> • 2.78% across-the-board increase for all employees on January 1, 1997. <br /> • A continuation of step movements during the two years covered. <br /> Attached as an exhibit to the resolution is a schedule showing the total cost of these <br /> various adjustments over the two years of the contract. <br /> The Council recently approved an appropriation fi•om the fund balance of the general <br /> fund to cover negotiated pay increases.
