CURREM TITLE PAY GRADE <br /> COMMENTS: <br /> Request to create six (6J Police Officer II Temporary positions, which will be <br /> temporarily reallocated to the PO III level and assigned to the Hilo, waiakea. Keaau, <br /> Honoka'a, Konawaena and Kealakehe school complexes as part of the School <br /> Resource Officer Program with the Department of Education. This program will work <br /> with our Community Policing Program to focus on creating and maintaining a safe <br /> school and community environment. Federal funds for the COPS grant was awarded <br /> for a three year period not to exceed August 31, 2005. The grant has been accepted <br /> and funds will be appropriated upon approval by the County Council. At the <br /> conclusion of the grant period, the County will be required to retain the positions and <br /> fund it.
