CORPORATION COUNSEL <br /> The budget of the Office of Corporation Counsel has been <br /> amended to reflect funding for a new Legal Clerk III, two <br /> summer law interns, and the recently created attorney <br /> position. The Office also included funds for PC <br /> replacements and deleted costs for printing of the County <br /> Code. <br /> CIVIL SERVICE <br /> The Civil Service Department has eliminated funding for a <br /> Program Specialist and included a scholarship program to be <br /> funded with forfeitures from the flexible spending program. <br /> <br /> RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> R & D has added two (2) grant programs, Greetings Program <br /> and Visitor Aloha Program, and has increased <br /> training/seminar expenses which will be covered by <br /> registration fees. <br /> PUBLIC WORKS <br /> Public Works' budget amendments reflect a) the cost increase <br /> in janitorial services with the change in vendor, b) the <br /> cost of additional space at Hanama Place, c) the change in <br /> Building Inspection's computer equipment request and, d) the <br /> transfer of the Civil Engineer VII position from the <br /> Engineering Division to Public Works Administration. <br /> POLICE <br /> Included in the amended Police budget are a) the funding of <br /> seven (7) community police officers and two (2) detectives <br /> after the expiration of the COPS Ahead and Sex Crimes Units <br /> grants, b) the deletion of the Sex Crime Units grant and <br /> matching funds, and c) the transfer of a position from HIPAL <br /> to the Criminal Intelligence Unit. <br /> <br /> FIRE <br /> The Fire Department budget has been amended to reflect a) <br /> the pay adjustment granted to the Chief and Deputy, b) the <br /> new USFA Firefighter Safety grant, c) the revised <br /> contributions account estimate, and d) correcting wage <br /> estimates. <br /> <br />
