COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. >_o a <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 18 OF THE HAWAII <br /> COUNTY CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION) RELATING TO UNCOLLECTIBLE <br /> ACCOUNTS <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF AAWA[`L• <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 2, article 18, section 2-109, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 <br /> edition), relating to uncollectible accounts, is amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 2-109. Uncollectible accounts; procedw•e; records. <br /> Agency heads may from time to time prepare and submit for review by the corporation counsel a <br /> list of all uncollectible accounts in their agency. Such accounts as the corporation counsel finds to <br /> be uncollectible shall be entered in a special record to be maintained by the director of finance and <br /> be deleted from the accounts receivable records of the agency which shall thereupon be relieved <br /> from any further accountability for their collection. [No account shall be so deleted until it shall <br /> have been delinquent for at least two consecutive years.] Any account entered in the special record <br /> shall be transferred back to the current accounts receivable if the corporation counsel finds that the <br /> facts as alleged and presented to him were not true, or that the account has become collectible. <br /> SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In printing <br /> this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included. <br /> SECTION 3. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or <br /> circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the <br /> ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the <br /> provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br /> SECTION 4.
