Other Essential Utilities and Services: Police services are available at the main station <br />on Kapiolani Street and fire protection services at the Hilo Central Fire Station located at <br />the comer of Kino`ole Street and Ponahawai Street. Electric and telephone services are <br />available to the site. <br />AGENCIES' COMMENTS <br />29. Department of Environmental Management (March 4, 2003 Memo): <br />"We have reviewed the subject application and our comments are attached. <br />Solid Waste Division (March 3, 2003 Memo): <br />"Relating to the subject application for TMK (3) 2-2-050:014, this division has <br />The Following clarifications/comments, as indicated: <br />Commercial operations may not use transfer stations for disposal. <br />Aggregates and any other construction/demolition waste should be reused to its <br />fullest extent. <br />Ample room should be provided for recycling. <br />Greenwaste may be disposed of only at the drop sites located at the Kailua and <br />Hilo Transfer Stations. <br />"Prior to any commercial development of this site, a Solid Waste Management Plan, must <br />be submitted to and approved by the Department of Environmental Management." <br />Wastewater Division (March 3, 2003 Memo): <br />"Wastewater Division has reviewed the subject Change of Zone Application and <br />recommends the following: <br />Require connection of existing and/or proposed structures to the public sewer." <br />Applicant's Response (March 15, 2003 Letter): <br />"This is in response to the Department of Environmental Management's comments <br />regarding the subject matter. Please be informed that the applicant's project will be <br />hooked up to the County's sewer system. Furthermore, as required of projects of this <br />nature, a Solid Waste Management Plan will be prepared for the review and approval of <br />the DEM prior to or in conjunction with the building permit process. <br />"Should you have additional comments or questions regarding this matter, please feel <br />free to contact me.
