A speed study <br /> consisting of trial runs was conducted and we conclude speed limits ranging <br /> from 25 to 35 miles per hour is appropriate for this roadway. The Hawaii <br /> Police Department concurs with this proposal which will aid them in their <br /> speed enforcement efforts. <br /> We request the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-255, <br /> Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit) and Section 24-257, Schedule 5 (35 mile <br /> per hour limit) under (c) Hilo be amended as described in the attached draft <br /> for an ordinance. A location map is attached. <br /> Under separate cover, we are transmitting the proposed ordinance to the Public <br /> Works Committee Chair for introduction. <br /> We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject <br /> amendment.
