Arakaki - <br /> Council Chair ~ <br /> _ ~ <br /> RE: Bill 183 (Draft 2) <br /> During its discussion and as a result of discussion held on Bill No. 183, the following <br /> amendments were made for housekeeping purposes: <br /> Section 2- .Funding. <br /> The Disaster and Emergency Fund shall be funded each fiscal year by the <br /> council appropriating a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $500,000 per <br /> year until the Fund has accumulated a maximum of $5,000,000 [at the time of <br /> appropriation]. <br /> Section 2- .Expenditures from the Disaster and Emergency Fund. <br /> ( c) To provide immediate response for services [for] to deal with public <br /> health and safety risks due to a natural or man-caused disaster or <br /> emergency in the form of personnel, equipment, materials, supplies, <br /> and service contracts. <br /> (d) To match federal, state, and/or private grants-in-aid to develop or [bring <br /> back] restore public property to a safe and useable condition <br /> Section 2- .Dissolution of the fund. <br /> The Disaster and Emergency fund shall not be dissolved unless such dissolution <br /> is approved by [the unanimous] atwo-third vote of the County Council. <br /> Please consider Bill 183 (Draft 2) for the establishment of a Disaster and Emergency <br /> Fund at your Council Meeting of December 17, 2003. <br /> Att.
