I am the Depuh~ District Superintendent for Hawaii <br /> School District, Department of Education. I am also a former member of <br /> the Hawaii County Police Comnnission. <br /> I am here to give a short testimony in reference to budget support and other <br /> County Council initiatives that are being consicle~~ed that assist the Hawaii <br /> County Police Department in their efforts to protect the community in relation <br /> to crime and other related law violations. <br /> One particular area of needed assistance is to srapport in total, the police <br /> department's request to control and combat the relentless Big Island fight <br /> against illegal marijuana cultivation. As a school official, I am against all <br /> Forms of illegal drugs.
