CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY <br />CIVIL DEFENSE <br />1. Continue to review and update tsunami evacuation maps. <br />Maps were updated using the Data Systems new GIS mapping system with input <br />from Fire, Police and Public Works. Maps to be published in Nov '03. <br />Continue the priority of working with all segments of the community in developing <br />emergency -response plans. <br />a. Work with the public sectors in hazard/risk awareness and response preparedness. <br />Review and update Police, public works, fire and parks Standard Operating <br />Procedure (SOP). <br />Personnel turnover resulted in no progress in this category: <br />Assistant Administrator — retired 31 Dec 02. <br />Administrator — retired 1 Apr 03 <br />Plans and Operations Officer — Extended leave effective 7 April 03 to <br />present. <br />b. Continue to coordinate and participate in emergency preparedness exercises. <br />Keaukaha School Tsunami Exercise <br />Kapi`olani School Tsunami Exercise <br />Hale Ho`ola Hamakua Exercise <br />Tsunami Roadblock Exercise with Department of Public Works <br />State Tsunami Exercise <br />U. S. Coast Guard Oil Spill Drill <br />Hawaii Electric Light Tabletop Exercise <br />c. Continue to coordinate and participated in training for emergency response. <br />Police Recruit Class #62 <br />Fire Recruit Class <br />Continue to work with Department of Education regarding new facilities being <br />available to expand our shelter program. <br />Coordinated with the American Red Cross to publish updated shelter listing. <br />Final Status Report on Program Objectives for FY 2002-03 <br />
