SUMMARY <br /> Two training sessions were conducted, one in East Hawaii and one in West Hawaii, at <br /> <br /> which forty-one school crossing guards received training in safe crossing techniques, <br /> <br /> pedestrian safety, and administration of the school crossing guazd program. <br /> <br /> Additionally, police officers and Traffic Services staff conducted 130 inspections of <br /> school crossing guards throughout the grant period. This including providing in-service <br /> <br /> training when necessazy. <br /> Complaints against school crossing guards have declined from 13 in the 2000-01 fiscal <br /> year to 8 in the 2002-03 fiscal year. <br /> <br />
