What is the status of office relocation for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office? <br /> It is our understanding that Finance has submitted a request to have our office relocation <br /> project added to the current CIP list. In the interim we have done preliminary work to assess <br /> our needs and are awaiting contracting of a design consultant to complete the planning and <br /> design of the space. <br /> 23. What were the "14 significant community changes" addressing public safety issues <br /> implemented by the Community Empowerment Organization (CEO)? <br /> The l4 significant community changes are attached to the budget message. They include: <br /> SOUTH KONA: <br /> One Neighborhood Watch (NHW) Mobile Patrol formed. <br /> Change in lease language by Kamehameha Schools to clarify consequences of drug <br /> activity by leasees. <br /> Formed an Abandoned Vehicle Task Force which formulated procedural changes in <br /> conjunction with county deparhnents. <br /> NORTH KONA: <br /> Developed and carried out a comprehensive study of Alii Drive which is in use as a <br /> resource by both community and county. <br /> Assisted residents of Ka Hale Kahalu'u Housing in developing their first Resident <br /> Council and expediting building repairs and maintenance. <br /> SOUTH KOHALA: <br /> Brought United Way 211 information system to Hawaii Island <br /> NORTH KOHALA: <br /> Established county-wide newsletter for dissemination of safety and crime <br /> information. <br /> HAMAKUA: <br /> Applied for and received a State Incentive Grant for Honokaa School Complex which <br /> will provide continued support to the CEO project in Hamakua and Waimea. <br /> NORTH HILO: <br /> One new NHW formed. <br /> Established alternate route system of county roads for police and fire to use in <br /> unexpected state road closures in Laupahoehoe area. <br /> SOUTH HILO/PUNA: <br /> Combined effort formed an Illegal Dumping Task Force to work with community, <br /> county departments and major land owners to increase responsible stewardship of <br /> large areas of vacant lands. <br /> <br />
