Holoholo/Nana Street project three would be an excellent choice:
1) Kona Scenic Land expects to start construction in 3 to 6
months (limiting the cost to the city as condemning the road
alone would value from 280,000.00-460,000.00)
2) The Road would provide access that is''/z way down
Kaiminani (mauka/makai)
3) It would allow better and more efficient access for the fire
department vehicles (as they would then be able to cut across
faster as the fire dept. is located at the bottom of the hill)
4) The visibility is MUCH better for cross traffic entering
Kaiminani from side streets (see pictures)
5) The Kona Palisades Community Association supports this idea
as stated in the West Hawaii Today on 2/25/04
b. Iliili/Kiekie Street project which will begin in 6 to 9 months by
Tinguely Development INC.
c. AhiAhi (as ground is also already broken on this project) (see
pictures)
Please consider the reasons I have provided to NOT open the Keokeo st. barricade. As a
school teacher, l am aware of how important safety can be, and if this road was open it
could potentially create great harm. Kona is growing at an incredible rate, however that
does not mean we should "cut comers" and make neighborhood road into major roads as
a "quick-fix." Compromising the safety of our Ohana is not acceptable, and should not
even be considered as an option.
Mahalo
Kell Donovan/Senft(808) 93 -4162'
73-4322 Keo Keo
Kona, HI 96740

Gbfaniaml @aol.com
