(2? Subdivision identification sign. One sign, per IeQal subdivision roadway access, of either a <br /> ground or wall type, relating to the identification of subdivision within a district[, of either a <br /> ground or wall rype]. [€sash]Neither sign shall not exceed sixteen (16~ square feet in area. (CC) <br /> Section 3-j~j10. Signs permitted in residential districts. (RS, RD, RM) <br /> The following types of signs are[sHe11-Fie] allowed, with a permit, in the RS, RD and RM districts: <br /> (a) One sign, either wall or ground (unlighted or indirectly lighted), not exceeding six square <br /> feet in area. Commercial signs shall relate to a legally permitted activity being conducted on the <br /> premises. <br /> Section 3-[d3]I1. Signs permitted in commerciaVindustrial districts (RCX, V, CN, CG, CV, <br /> MCX, ML, MG). <br /> (a) The following types of signs [sHeFFbe]are allowed, with a permit, in commercial/industrial <br /> districts (RCX, V, CN, CG, CV, MCX, ML, MG): <br /> (1) Ground Sign. <br /> (A) One ground sign, relating to business conducted on the premises, as follows: <br /> (i) If lot frontage is up to 100 lineal feet, ground sign may not exceed sixteen square <br /> feet and not exceed eight feet in elevation from the ground; <br /> (ii) If lot frontage is greater than [-1-0~] 100 lineal feet, ground sign may not exceed <br /> twenty-four square feet and not exceed twelve feet in elevation from the ground; <br /> (B) The elevation of a ground sign shall be computed as the distance from the base of the <br /> sign at normal grade to the top of the highest attached component of the sign. Normal grade shall be <br /> construed to be the lower of either the existing grade prior to construction or the newly established <br /> grade after construction, exclusive of any filling, beaming, mounding, or excavating solely for the <br /> purpose of locating the sign. <br /> (2) Marquee Sign. <br /> (A) One sign attached to the underside of a marquee (hanging sign) for each business <br /> conducted on the premises. This marquee sign shall not exceed nine square feet in area and the lower <br /> edges must be at least seven and one-half feet above the ground; or <br /> (B) One sign attached to or otherwise displayed upon the face of the marquee. This sign <br /> shall not exceed a total sign area of 32 square feet or fifteen percent of the marquee area on which it is <br /> displayed, whichever is less. The maximum letter height is not to exceed twenty-four inches. <br /> (3) Projecting Sign. One projecting sign for each business conducted on the premises, stating <br /> <br /> the name and the nature of the business, which may only occur on an exterior wall without an overhang. <br /> The bottom edge of the sign shall be no lower than nine feet over any public pedestrian ri hg t-of-way. <br /> Maximum sign area shall not exceed sixteen square feet. <br /> <br />
