Kailua Village Merchant Association <br /> Sign Code Working Group <br /> Draft as of 07/11/04, tlr <br /> <br /> THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO BILL 280 (DRAFT 6) ARE DISPLAYED, as foliows: <br /> Deletions are indicated through <br /> Additions are indicated with underline and bold. <br /> AND THE AMENDMENTS ARE O(tGANIZED WITHIN FOUR SECTIONS, as follow:,: <br /> I. Revise/add general definitions to improve user readability and application. <br /> A) Proposed amendments, revise definitions for 1) `Street, add definitions far 2) <br /> `Street Frontage' and :3) `Pedestrian Way'; <br /> B) Proposed amendments, revise definitions for 1) `Sign', 2) `Wmdow Sign', 3) <br /> `Painted Window Sign', 4) `Temporary Painted Window Sign', 5) `Temporary <br /> Sign' and 6) `Dvectory Sign'; and, <br /> C) Proposed amendment, add a definition for authorized personnel. <br /> II. Update boundaries to reflect current and future business development within Kailua <br /> Village Design District; improve conformance between code for businesses within same or <br /> similar districts. <br /> A) Proposed amendments, delete Section 3-3 (a)(19) definition for `Kailua Village <br /> Core' and specifically related sign code Section 3-58(b); <br /> B) Proposed amendment, delete Section 3-61 (4) restricting content of signs <br /> within KVDD to name of business only; <br /> C) Proposed amendment, revise Section 3-60 (a) referring to number of signs per <br /> business within KVDD; and, <br /> D) Proposed amendment, revise Section 3-58 (a)(1)(A) and (B) pertaining io <br /> ground signs and aggregate frontage restriction within KVDD. <br /> III. Improve user readability rind application of Wall Sign and Directory Sign code <br /> A) Proposed amendments -add definition for adjacent wall to Section 3-3 at~d <br /> revise Article 1, Section 3-11 (5)(A), and Article 2, Sections 3-58 (4)(A), (E.), and <br /> (C) referring to wall signs; and, <br /> B) Proposed amendments -revise Article 1, Section 3-11 (1) and Article 2, <br /> Section 3-58 (1); add Directory Sign specifications for multi-business complexes, <br /> and revise Article 1, Section 3-6 (b)(3) referring to directory signs. <br /> IV.
