<br /> . • 00-40 • <br /> WAIKIKI BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT PLAN <br /> THIS WAIKIKI BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT PLAN ("Plan") was prepared and <br /> sponsored by the Waikiki Improvement Association pursuant to <br /> Hawaii Revised Statutes section 46-80.5, and Revised Ordinances <br /> of Honolulu 1990, chapter <br /> 1. Nam of h D;a ; The name of this special <br /> improvement district ("District") shall be the "City and County <br /> of Honolulu Business Improvement District No. One (Waikiki)." It <br /> shall commonly be referred to as the "Waikiki Business <br /> Improvement District" or the "Waikiki BID." <br /> 2. T rm of h D;s ; The initial term of the District <br /> is for five years, which is automatically renewed unless an <br /> ordinance terminating the District is adopted, in which case <br /> operations of the District shall cease, except that the term of <br /> the District cannot expire until all debt service on bonds and <br /> incidental expenses and supplemental services expenses are fully <br /> paid or irrevocable provision for such payment has been made. <br /> 3. Boundaries of h Dia ric The boundaries of the <br /> District are shown on the map attached hereto as Exh;b; ~ and <br /> made a part hereof. The District shall include the area <br /> generally bounded by the Ala Wai Canal, the shoreline and <br /> Kapahulu Avenue. There are three (3) precincts within the <br /> District that shall be called "BID Precincts." The geographical <br /> boundaries of the BID Precincts are shown on Exh;b;r i, <br /> Generally, BID Precinct 1 is the area in which supplemental <br /> services will be concentrated and shall include properties <br /> fronting Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues and properties between these <br /> streets; BID Precinct 2 is the area in the District that is makai <br /> of, but that does not have direct street frontage onto, Kalakaua <br /> Avenue, between Kuhio Beach Park and Saratoga Road; and BID <br /> Precinct 3 is the remainder of the District that is in neither <br /> BID Precinct 1 or 2. The precincts are not service areas of the <br /> District under Section _-2.8, ROH. If there is a conflict <br /> between this general description of the BID Precinct boundaries <br /> and the BID Precinct boundaries shown on Exh;b;r i, the <br /> boundaries shown on Exhibit 1 shall control. Exh;b;t 2 is a list <br /> of parcels of land to be assessed, by tax map key number, <br /> included in the district. <br /> 4. Mission Statement.
