<br /> a~~~ - ~ <br /> J/v ` <br /> SPECIFICATIONS <br /> 1. GENERAL. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, <br /> equipment, transportation, appurtenances to remove and dispose <br /> of existing and future junked vehicles, "white goods" <br /> (appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, washing machines, <br /> etc.) and waste metal from the island of Hawaii for a twelve <br /> (12) month period, exclusive of mobilization time. <br /> a. The Contractor shall have the exclusive right to salvage all <br /> scrap metal, such as junked vehicles, appliances and all <br /> other forms of scrap metal from the County facility <br /> designated. All materials so processed by the Contractor <br /> shall become its property and responsibility upon removal <br /> from the County facility. <br /> b. Processed metals or other materials if stored at the <br /> respective landfills shall done so in an orderly fashion and <br /> shall meet with the approval of the County. <br /> c. The Contractor shall be responsible for hazardous liquids <br /> and/or materials, oils, batteries and other items regulated <br /> by the State Department of Health normally found within <br /> vehicles, appliances and other similar items. Such <br /> materials shall be handled and disposed in a manner <br /> complying with all applicable County, State and Federal <br /> rules, regulations and laws. Should any other hazardous <br /> liquids and/or materials be encountered or discovered, the <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for isolating and <br /> identifying such materials and shall immediately notify the <br /> County of its existence and location. Thereafter such <br /> wastes shall become the responsibility of the County. <br /> d. The Contractor shall be responsible to take all measures <br /> necessary to secure his inventory materials, equipment and <br /> Facilities while on County controlled properties. <br /> <br />
