<br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. sea <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br /> (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 18, Article 4, Division 1, Section 18-90, (Fares), of the <br /> Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is amended by adding a new subsection to <br /> read as follows: <br /> f q) Promotional fares. The Transit Administrator may establish fares on a <br /> temporary basis for a period not to exceed 90 (ninety) calendar days for bus <br /> routes and services. <br /> (h) Kona district transportation free zone. <br /> (1) The purpose of this subsection is to assist in alleviating traffic <br /> congestion in the Kona district. <br /> (2) The Kona district between Kealia (Fuiihara Store), and Kalaoa <br /> (Makalei Golf Course Road), shall be a transportation free zone. <br /> Riders boarding and alighting any public transit vehicle operated by <br /> the County of Hawaii or its designee within the two areas shall ride <br /> free of charge. <br /> <br />
