The project site is located approximately one mile <br /> <br /> from the shoreline and is not in the SMA. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT SITE AND SURROUNDING AREA <br /> <br /> 10. Subject Property: The property is the site of the Waiakea Kai Shopping Plaza located <br /> on the northwestern corner of Kanoelehua Avenue and Kuawa Street. Businesses in the <br /> <br /> shopping plaza include a Thai Restaurant and several commercial establishments. <br /> Although the applicant has stated that there are two structures on the site, there is one <br /> <br /> structure on the property, per staffs site inspection. There are 108 parking stalls, nine <br /> compact and two loading zones. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> -2- <br />
